Wow, the Rtic cup Brian gives out for posting here is amazing, all night in the car and my drink was still icy in the morning, thanks. I would never have bought something like that for myself.
I've fished there 6 times over the last two months and have caught one fish. Its 10 bucks to park and fish there. One good thing I found out is that even though the website says the park closes at 8:00 pm you can stay until dark and waste more of your time, LOL.
I saw this huge trout cruising the shoreline(Steve says you can put something right in front of them and they wont bite). There aren't very many bugs so the trout must be eating shad. Birds dive towards the middle of the lake so I figure the surface water there has more O2 and is cooler with food so the the shad like it out there. Unknown fish bust the water out there for something and its not bugs. I'll continue to soak bait for catfish and will start throwing something minnow like for trout.
Its not so hot at Quarry and in the evening when the wind dies down the water is glassy and nice. Its a nice place to unwind after the day.
It was nice at Quarry yesterday. 2-8 now so I'll quit bad mouthing the fishing there. I don't think there are very many fish there but they are big to me. Adam caught a nice trout(winter time I think) there but right now its hard to keep the small bass off your lures. Alan is storing my bass boat so I'll try drifting or trolling this fall as there are big trout there.
Make it 1 for 7. I'll be adding a new lure to my collection of rarely used lures: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KLkCtNvc58M
Go get em!
Glad you like the Rtic cup Edward. Thanks for the report!
